Heat Pipe Design

A significant performance A significant performance increase has been achieved through a design improvement to the heatpipe. This design change has already been fully tested, certified and started shipping from the Apricus factory in mid December.

A 8-10% increase in heat output, particularly in cold weather, has been achieved by increasing the length of the heat pipe condenser (fat end) by 50%.
Comprehensive testing was completed with various condenser length, with a 45mm size proving to be the optimum size. Re-modelling of many systems is being completed with the new collector performance data to provide improved RECs values and will be submitted in the application new round late January 2010.

This design change makes no difference to the installation process, and the manifold and frame dimensions and design remain unchanged.
