How Apricus Systems Work
Apricus solar collectors can be installed in many different configurations depending on your requirements, and type of house. The structure of the collector can be seen below. Normally the evacuated tubes are 1.8m long, and come in 10, 20, 22 or 30 tube sizes.
 
The operation of the solar collector is very simple
1. The sunlight strikes the dark-blue absorber inside the evacuated tube.
2. The copper heat pipe within the tube transfers the heat up to the copper header pipe housed inside the insulated manifold box.
3. A pump circulates water from the storage tank through the copper header pipe warming the water.
4. The solar heated water is then returned to the storage tank raising the temperature.
5. Gradually the water in the storage tank is heated.
6. The water is boosted by electricity or gas as required to ensure hot water even during poor weather. |
